Biography

Leutenant Commander Drummond Saint Clair-Ford was Lost at sea on Submarine HMS Traveller during World War II.

Drummond was born in 1907. He was the son of Anson Saint Clair-Ford and Isabel Adams.

He married Norah Elizabeth Maberly, daughter of Captain Charles James Astley Maberly In 1933.[1]

He was a well-known rugby player for Scotland before the war before the war.[2]

He joined the Submarine Service of the Royal Navy in 1929. He became a Lieutenant Commander in the Royal Navy.

On November 28, 1942, the submarine HMS Traveler, under the command of Saint-Clair-Ford, for a patrol in the Gulf of Taranto. ). The submarine did not return from the operation and was reported overdue on 12 December. She probably struck an Italian mine on or about 4 December.[3]
